Tonight's debate: pivotal

I'm hardly alone in saying tonight's debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden is big.
Here's one example of many in today's media reports:

"The stakes could hardly be greater, particularly for the Republicans. A host of polls released Wednesday showed voters moving toward Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain nationally and in key electoral states."

Let''s face it, this is true. The McCain campaign has had a run of bad news lately.
The focus on the economy has helped Obama. The focus on the bailout plans have only strengthened the focus on "change", which also helps Obama. The polls show Obama gaining. Last week's debate was a draw. The McCain camp needs a jolt of new energy, something to change the feeling and the momentum of the campaign as it now stands.
I'm one who thinks Sarah Palin can do it. We'll see.
