Post-conventions, the presidential race remains close

According to NBC's map:

"After the conventions and the candidates’ VP picks, Obama still maintains a slight electoral lead, according to NBC’s map. Obama has 228 electoral votes to McCain’s 200, with 110 electoral votes in the toss-up column."

And don't look for much to change until we get to the debates--the next big campaign milestones.

Update: by the way, this poll actually has McCain leading the race now.
