Barack Obama still doesn't get it

Has he learned nothing from his opposition to the surge in Iraq? Now he's blasting President Bush, because the president won't withdraw from Iraq:

"In the absence of a timetable to remove our combat brigades, we will continue to give Iraq's leaders a blank check instead of pressing them to reconcile their differences," Obama said while campaigning in Ohio, a crucial swing state."

No, Senator Obama--the PRESENCE of a timetable to remove our combat brigades would only embolden our enemies, and convince them that the U.S. could be beaten, that they need only wait for us to leave in order for them to be able to renew their struggle, that they could not and would not be beaten. The presence of a timetable would be the worst possible thing to do. And I'm not convinced the American people want a timetable. We'll see.
