...and as I am one of them, a big one, I wanted to pass this nugget along concerning the upcoming basketball season:
"As expected, Notre Dame drew a familiar foe in the first round of the 2008 EA Sports Maui Invitational. The Irish open play Nov. 24 at the Lahaina Civic Center against Indiana, a team Notre Dame has faced 67 times in school history. It will be the first game between the teams since a 55-45 Irish victory in Bloomington on Dec. 8, 2004. ESPN2 will televise the game, which tips at 5:30 p.m. South Bend time (12:30 p.m. in Maui)."
That'll be must-see TV, given how long it's been since ND and Indiana have played each other in basketball. It was a great rivalry for a long time. It'll also be fascinating to see how IU looks, given their new coach, Tom Crean, all of their off-the-court troubles in the past year, all the players the Hoosiers lost off of last year's team...
And by the way, never mind the Irish football team--this year look for the ND hoops team to shine. Don't be surprised if they're ranked in the top 10 to start the season.
Don't look past them, Irish; when you play IU, you always have to "tend to your knittin'", as the legendary Keith Jackson once said...
