Is there even a war going on there anymore?
This writer for the Wall Street Journal argues, persuasively, no.
Note especially this:
Last month, American combat deaths in Iraq were: 5.
Compare to 1971 in Vietnam, when American involvement there was seriously winding down. Combat deaths per month then were: 115.
Note also that Francis Fukuyama, noted political writer and analyst, agrees that the war is pretty much done. He had said not long ago that there was no wway it would be by now.
