In case you hadn't heard, this weekend was the YearlyKos convention--a convention of mainly liberal, Democratic bloggers, hosted by the biggest liberal blog of them all, Markos Moulitsas and the "Daily Kos." They're not too happy, though---as was widely-demonstrated, the Kossacks silenced a soldier at one of their panels who wished to support the war, though they are desperately trying to spin this episode differently (the Angry Rakkasan claims their big concern was that the soldier was violating the law by engaging in politics in uniform--gosh, I bet if he'd been seeking to state his OPPOSITION to the war, it would have been no big deal). But mainly they're furious (see here and here) at Democrats in the House who supported the administration's attempt to keep its ability to engage in surveillance of Americans engagin in overseas phone calls and e-mails, as anti-terror measures (the bill passed).
Maybe it wasn't such a great weekend for the Daily Kossers after all. Congressmen can read polls; maybe the administration's measures against terrorism aren't so unpopular after all.
