Well, no, not really. But he's aware of the criticism he's taken, and is still taking, for last fall and winter's "I'm staying at Miami/I'm not going to Alabama/I repeat, I'm staying in Miami forever etc etc etc." So in a big article in today's Washington Post about his new gig as coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide, Saban did say this: "We love college football because we like the spirit and enthusiasm of it," he said, speaking for himself and his wife, Terry. "We feel like we can impact and affect young people in a more positive way in college football because of their age.
"That's certainly what we wanted to finish our career doing, and that's absolutely what we're going to do. That's my story, and it always will be. Maybe we could have handled it a better way."
That's the most Dolphin fans will ever get from him, one suspects.
