Three teenagers were were brutally killed recently in Newark, New Jersey. Significantly, it now turns out that one of those arrested in connection with the murders was an illegal immigrant...who was caught because police found his fingerprint on a bottle at the scene.
Which means his fingerprint had been in the system since 2002, but of course authorities had had no idea where this particular illegal was. This kind of thing--the danger that illegal immigration could fuel criminal activity--is another reason why more folks are exercised over the immigration issue these days.
