Oklahoma leapfrogs Texas, and has the inside track to play in the BCS title game in January.
This is simply ridiculous. And wrong. Here's why:
On the field, head-to-head matchups are supposed to be key in college football.
That's what BCS people and college football honchos keep telling us--every game is important, and can change the season. Back when Texas and Oklahoma played, in October, we were told what an important game this was. Well, Texas won, 45-35.
And now we had a major, important decision, a milestone, reached in determining who will play for the BCS title. It came down to Texas vs Oklahoma.
The two teams played, head to head. On a neutral field.
But the BCS managed to make that game irrelevant. Completely irrelevant.
That's wrong.
