Barack Obama's foreign policy liberalism

He put it on display again in his most recent comments on Russia.
Victor Davis Hanson of NRO takes it apart today:

"We didn't have to wait long for the much anticipated morally-equivalent message from Barack Obama: “We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies. They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.” Let me get this straight: getting a Senate and House majority to authorize a bipartisan joint war-resolution, going to the UN, assembling a coalition, having a national and world debate on the wisdom of such an operation from December 2001 to March 2003, and then attacking a genocidal dictator, and staying on to foster a constitutional democracy are apparently the same "charge" "example" as an autocracy suddenly invading its democratic neighbor during the Olympics, and staying on to annex some of its territory?"

And I have to agree--usually Obama keeps his liberalism under wraps. But bit by bit, it has begun to leak out--equating what America did with regard to Iraq to a lawless invasion, implying that some rural people believe in God and gun control only because they're "frustrated", etc. He very much holds the ideas of the left elite. We should expose this as much as we can.

More deconstruction of Obama in Berlin

Senator Obama made a big deal out of being a "citizen of the world."
But as Rich Lowry shows today, there's no such thing--and thinking that there is suggests deeper flaws in the Senator's thought:

"In Berlin, Obama called himself, unironically, a “citizen of the world.” The world, however, issues no passports, nor does it have citizens. The world in the way Citizen Obama imagines it — as a global community to which we all belong — doesn’t exist. Only backpacking hippies, devotees of the Davos World Economic Forum and U.N. bureaucrats speak this way...He railed against “walls” of all kinds, even though walls are useful in dividing hostile communities (see, most recently, Israel and Iraq) and, in the form of borders, are the most basic stuff of nationhood. He addressed “people of the world” and told them “this is our moment, this is our time,” as if the impossibly disparate people of the world can ever have a common will."

And if you think "the world" does have that "will", then explain to us what the common will is of the Israelis and Palestinians.

This is why conservatives believe America's sovereignty is so important, and that it must be safeguarded. And why no leader of ours can ever allow "world opinion" to veto our actions--since no world consensus exists.

Trying to look tough

Barack Obama is, that is...on the national security question:

"Barack Obama is answering a question he faced often on the campaign trail. Whom would he turn to for advice when making foreign policy decisions? The Democratic White House hopeful has scheduled the inaugural meeting Wednesday of what he’s calling his Senior Working Group on National Security. It includes former members of Congress and high-ranking Clinton administration officials."

He's trying to insulate himself against attacks for being weak on terrorism and the like.
Conservatives shouldn't let him get away with it--keep reminding folks about the naive nature of his pledges to meet with dictatorial enemies of the U.S., or about his suggestion that law-enforcement measures can be used to fight terrorism.
