The Beckhams: the fragrance of moolah

Ah, so that's why the Beckhams have been so visible since they got here: "Intimately Beckham, the couple's fragrance line which up until now has only been available across the pond, will be available in U.S. department stores next month, followed by drug stores in January, according to Women's Wear Daily. The his-and-hers scents, designed to complement one another, retail for $25 and $55. Intimately Beckham launched in the U.K. last September."

And you thought David Beckham came here to play soccer. Something always, er, smelled a little different about all this...

The British soccer legend got a ton of positive press when he came here to play for the LA Galaxy. The coverage has been massive. But he hasn't played a single game, claiming to have an ankle injury. Yet he and his stunning wife have been out on the town constantly--here's the latest example. Americans can lose their patience, Mr. Beckham. Methinks he's going to find out, soon, what it's like when the American public goes sour on someone.
